Default Misfire! Bad coil packs and spark plugs.

Good morning all, SC tundra was not running well at all so I sent it in for Srv and after diagnostic the coils were bad on two cylinders and the plugs bad also. They wanted $2700 to fix so I just brought my baby home and I will fix it myself. Is there anything I should know before I tackle this project? Thanks

    Hey..long time no see!!
$2700 for coil packs and plugs? Change the bad coil packs and all the plugs. People will tell you to change all the coil packs, but I would just change the bad ones. It is easy to diagnose a bad coil pack. Just switch it with another and see which cylinder is throwing the codes. Don't forget to blow out the holes before you remove the plugs. Let us know how you make out.

2700??? I hope that's for chocolate kisses, and not actual money... I was quoted that much for a starter, last year...

Hahaha I wish! That’s why I drove it home and ordered all the parts. $500 total and I will be doing work tomorrow

LOL, That reminds me of a day I took my Celica in for a brake job, and they were like 4,99,99 per axle. The way they said it threw me off, so I asked 49.99? And was corrected swiftly, 499.99... so I further inquire just to make sure I was listening correctly and didn't become deaf all of a sudden, and stated for all 4 corners, and was corrected one more time with NO. 500 for front, 500 for rear, and I was like, but all I need is a resurface and new front pads? no more than $100 total, since rears were drums. So he states, its what the service entails, so I swiftly replied, do I drive through, or I back up... I did it myself, less than $100, inspected my drums and drenched them in brake klean, resurfaced the rotors at Pep Boys for $8 each, yes 8 dollars... most expensive were the brake pads were about $70 for the time, still dusted the **** out of my rims though.....
