Default Apimpdad's 02 Tundra Build - Solid Axle

Started off as a 2002 Toyota Tundra with about 14k miles on it. Soon after getting the truck, I added a 3" toytec spacer, 1.5" Pro Comp Add-A-Leaf, and 3" body lift and some 35" bfg all-terrains. I later removed the Pro Comp Add-A-Leaf and added some 33x12.50 Nitto Terra Grapplers because the 35's were rubbing and getting bald. At about 30k miles, i blew out the rear end (spider gears) while in 4wd pulling out of a ditch. I had that replaced, and at about 36k miles, the rear end went out again. After researching an SAS for almost a year, I finally went ahead and did it.

This is my daily driver and weekend off-road truck. I mainly use this truck for mud, deep water, and trail use. So far with the SAS I have had no problems that have left me stranded or broken down. Everything works pretty good, although I really need lockers. I am trying to make it the most capable I can.

I broke something in one of the transfer cases yesterday while out at a 450 acre mudhole/off road park. I got the driveshafts and exhaust already out, and all the wires unhooked and cases drained. Waiting for a tranny jack so I can pull them out.

Heres a pic of where it happened, yea the lens didnt open up all the way on the camera and my buddy didnt notice, but you get the idea. I wasn't very deep and only had it about a 1/4 throttle when it took a dump

Actually a Tacoma master cylinder and T-100 brake booster swap is better than a chevy MC swap. The T-100 uses a dual diaphragm booster as opposed to the tundra's single diaphragm booster. This means that you will have to put in less effort to push down the pedal to get the truck to stop.
