    Default Replacement Tires

    Hello All,

I have a 2017 Tundra TRD Off Road Crew Max and am looking to replace the tires. Currently riding OE Michelin LTX AT2 275/65/18 at around 63000 miles. Is it worth the money to replace with the same Michelin tires or are they not worth the extra money? If not what are some recommendations? The Michelins are around 250/each. I have looked at Hankook, Cooper and Yokohama as well in the same size. I am leaning towards the Yokohama Geolander HT G056 at around $180/each. They have 740 tread rating which is way higher than any of the others. I am mostly highway but may have to drive in snow for work. But off road will be limited. Thanks in advance for the help.

There are many options as you know. You got good service from the Michelins and if it were me I would stick with those because of personal experience. Many folks are happy with the Geolanders so that is a good option. Search our threads for more options.

Thanks for the input. Guy that works on my truck is pushing General Grabbers. Out the door for just under $700 installed.

If cost is a concern, that sounds like a good option. I have BFG AT's on my truck but they will probably be more than the Michelins.

Cost is partially a factor. But more importantly I want a good ride. I had some BFG ATís on a Silverado I had but on highway they werenít the smoothest ride although I liked the look. I donít necessarily want the cheapest tire if it doesnít ride good but if I can save some $$$ and still have good ride then I am all for it

With an 8 ply tire like the BFG AT, you are going to have a harder ride because you have to run them at a higher pressure. I run mine at 55 psi. I bump it up to 60 if I have a load on.

mechelins are totally worth it. it is better to use it and be rest assured of the longer and better use than to buy another product at a bargain that you will have to replace later.
