    Default HCs build

This wont be much of a build. Im pretty happy with how the truck sits and looks. This will mostly be me making it my own! First order of business before I even left the parking lot of the dealership, was to install my tool box. Its just a standard low profile UWS box.

Next order of business was all weather floor mats and LED interior and exterior lighting.

The box lights were already in there when I bought it. Not sure if those are standard equipment or not.

The next order of business was an Airaid CAI I found on marketplace on the cheap and my flashlight/magazine holster.

Air bags and/or a load leveling hitch are obviously going to be a necessity on this rig. I decided not to pull this and ended up using my other farm truck to haul it.

Heres my last truck with the same load-

Very nice! Why not turn the truck on the trailer around to redistribute the heavier end?

60/40 rule of thumb. Might work if the engine would sit right on the axles, but it would be too much on the back of the trailer. Itll be alright with a WDH Im sure.

Yes I completely understand the 60/40 I’ve been towing vehicles, bikes and side by sides for a long time. How far are you towing this and how fast do you need to go?

Didnt mean to sound condescending. Ive hauled marbles and rocks and a Barbie doll bed for the girl next door. I already hauled the truck in to town with my old GMC now. I was just posting a pic as the story of the build progressed.

A good rule of thumb is that 10-15% of the trailer weight should be your tongue weight. I've heard people say 60/40, but that really depends on the location of the trailer axle. A large boat trailer for instance will have the axle very far back from the tongue where as a small utility trailer will have the axle closer to the middle of the trailer. This is a good demonstration of how tongue weight will affect the handling of your rig.

This is a good way to figure tongue weight with a bathroom scale.
