    Default Fuel gauge

This morning something curious happened as I was sitting at a drive thru window I noticed my fuel light on, followed by noticing my fuel gauge showing E. My heart dropped as I've had fuel stolen before, but I was 100% sure I had just over a 1/4 tank of fuel left. I usually sit in my driveway and let the truck warm up a little just to make sure my fuel gauge comes up to where it approximately needs to before I go. Not sure how fast it dropped, but it did slowly creep up to just passed 1/4 tank in roughly 3-4 minutes.. This is a first time for me. I did look around, but haven't found an answer. 07 DC long bed 5.7, and she's up to about 175k miles. Any info will be great full,

    Thanks in advance.
