    Oh hi!!!

    So, the P2440 code should still be covered under the Toyota 10yr/150k warranty extension. If the code is still popping up after bringing it to the dealer, bring it back again. P2440 is for the Bank 1 Air Switching valve being stuck open, which is located behind the intake manifold (or Supercharger if you have one). Replacement of the switching valve assemblies requires removal of the intake manifold or Supercharger, and I'm guessing if the code is coming back, the tech didn't replace those parts.

    P0441 is usually related to the EVAP Purge valve, which is located on the top of the engine, mounted to the intake manifold or Supercharger. Here's mine;

    To test that valve, first thing you should do (key off, engine off) is unplug the electrical connector (this might set a code, might not), and then disconnect the hose going back towards the firewall. DO NOT disconnect the hose going from the solenoid to the engine!!! Now start the engine. With the connector unplugged, the solenoid should be completely closed, and you should feel no vacuum coming through it (place your finger over the open port on the solenoid). If you DO feel vacuum coming through it, then the solenoid is stuck open, replace it. If you DO NOT feel vacuum coming through, then plug the solenoid back in, leave the engine running, and wait until the computer activates the solenoid (should be after the truck is warm, usually about 10 - 15 min). It should be a constant "click click click click" noise. At this point, you should feel vacuum at the open port. If you DO feel vacuum at this point, then the solenoid is good, and your problem lies elsewhere. If you DO NOT feel vacuum at this point (or don't hear the solenoid being activated after 30 min), then the solenoid is most likely stuck closed, and you'll have to replace it.

    Best of luck man!!! Let us know how it turns out!!!

    Ok, just saw your update on the incorrect code. This throws a wrench into things, as I've never dealt with that code before. From reading the code description for P2420, there could be a couple possible things going on.

    1) The fuel cap seal could be failing. You said you checked this though, so we will assume it's good.

    2) The canister vent valve could be failing. This is built into the charcoal canister under the truck (emissions related only, will not affect driveability), and IIRC would require replacement of the charcoal canister, which = lots of $$$.

    To be honest, there's absolutely no way for me to tell what's going on without personally looking at your truck and running some tests. Seeing that the charcoal canister cost is very high new, I would recommend taking it in and having it looked at. You may save a lot of money if they find something more simple than what I described. Also, it's possible for the P2420 to be causing the P0441. The purge valve test I described above is still valid, but other than that, there's nothing I can really do for ya. Sorry man!!! Definitely let us know what you come up with!!!

    If it's the charcoal canister I just replaced mine, stealer wanted 1200.00 installed and I got it from a Canadian eBay seller for around 450.00...easy install
